A delightful review with a flavour of the area as well as the cottage....we hope it inspires!
"As we turned the last bend before we arrived at Tayvallich we were greeted with one of the most naturally beautiful sights that I have ever seen. Having spent the last 15 years visiting the usual holiday destinations both in the Med and over the Atlantic (and round to the Pacific), I am blown away by the sheer beauty of this natural harbour at the top of Loch Sween. As we make the right turn and head to our ultimate destination at Carsaig the previous high of Tayvallich is equalled, if not surpassed ,by the view of Carsaig Bay and the romantic outline of Jura. The drive up to Carsaig Views was entertaining and one that I am sure would be a challenge in the snow but on this beautiful summer's day the twists and turns of the road resulted in what has to be the best views (bar none) of this little piece of heaven on earth. The house is situated at the top of Carsaig overlooking the bay and the Island of Jura. It is set in its own grounds with a large area for children (and parents) to roam about. We were greeted by the house owner who welcomed us as you would an old friend. Nothing was a bother and the house was in tip top but very homely condition. It did feel like we were part of the family from the start to the finish and I don't say that lightly. All the facilities were as described and the space in the house was great with big rooms that had an airy, homely feel. The living room/dining room had a truly unique and fantastic view, either from the very large front window that drew us all to sit a little bit longer, to the airy decking overlooking the same fantastic view. Whether it was breakfast at the table or a BBQ on the lawn the location was spectacular and the need to roam far was never a need. If a walk to the beach was wanted the stroll down the path to the bay was easy and often done at the start and end of the day. On paper there was a dearth of the usual holiday features to Carsaig/Tayvallich but the reason became apparent as this place didn't need the bells and whistles of less picturesque destinations. If you wanted a change a short trip in the car brought you to the Crinan Canal and should you want more civilisation then a slightly different turn took you to Lochgilphead for a wee bit of a Scottish Town. I have to say the owners made this great holiday even better by their help and it is true to say the feeling of being true friends is not just a throw away line. We will return and if you want to taste a little bit of heaven then you should leave the airline baggage restrictions next year and throw the case in the car and head to Carsaig, you'll not be disappointed."

"We had a lovely stay in a lovely cottage with just the most fantastic views. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. The cottage was very well equipped, clean and situated in a stunning location. Communication with the owner was excellent also, can't rate our holiday high enough. We will definitely be back."
"Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of staying in this wonderful location, we've had a fantastic time here.... Carsaig Views is warm, comfortable and very well appointed. Our passion is wildlife..... barn owls, deer, otters......Kilmartin Glen is a magical experience as were the wonderful starscapes. We cannot wait to return but fear that once people have experienced the "highland heaven" that is Carsaig Views, finding a vacant week will not be easy."
"Superb location with stunning views and sunsets."
"Thank you very much! We've had a fab time here in Carsaig/Tayvallich! Great food in the Inn and the Coffee Shop!! My husband and sons fished off the far rocks you can see from the front window. Caught 2 BIG pollock, a sea trout and 3 smaller pollock. Good fun crabbing off the jetty. Great house in great location!! Thank you ."

"We found the house extremely comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Its the ideal setting for anyone who loves the outdoors or anyone who simply likes to lay back and enjoy the view! The outside tap came in very handy as well."
"TOP BANANA! We had a wonderful week in your fabulous holiday home. Great walks, decent weather, cycling at Crinan. Master bedroom very comfy, new shower great, new sofas lovely, kitchen a joy to work in, views average (kidding ! - they are truly amazing and great from almost any window). Thanks again, it's obvious you really care that people have a good week and this makes a difference. We had a lovely holiday in one of my favourite parts of the world and would definitely look at coming back!"
"Superb cottage: views(only occasional alas) superb. Recommend Inn and Coffee shop. We had a week of unrelenting 'Atlantic' weather with clouds and rain broken only by a magical day of sun on Tuesday (sea trip to Dorus Mhor and Corryvrechan). That evening we visited the 'Beaver Dam' and saw 2 of them swimming one after the other! Made up for a lot of bad weather."
"Loved staying here with fabulous views and enjoyed all our walks in the area. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to come again."
"Wonderful cottage, beautiful location and stunning views. Sunny weather all week if a bit on the cold side a couple of days. Highly recommend Tayvallich Inn and the coffee shop, the many walks in the area, Crinan Canal, and Arduaine Gardens. Fabulous week all round."
"We've had a fantastic week in this lovely cottage. What an amazing location! How many places do you get wonderful sunsets over Jura, the beach on your doorstep, and your own 'mini-mountain' in the back garden? The kids and the dog loved it! We hope to be back next year."
"Great weather, great views, midges biting!"
"Excellent tasteful reburbishment, making it very inviting to stay here."
"We have enjoyed ourselves, thank you, good to chill out before our busy season starts."
"Fantastic cottage, spacious, welcoming and comfortable (especially the bed.) We’ve had a fabulous holiday. Wonderful sunsets – taken photos from the lounge window – what a view! We look forward to returning next year to this haven."
"Cottage, welcoming and homely. Location stunning. Had a peaceful family time away from the ‘rat race.’ Harry had many ‘adventures’ and dogs had freedom. Thank you for opening the bunk room – bigger kids used this as an x box room when not climbing rocks, hunting crabs, taking photos, or watching the dear, frogs, heron, rabbits and young fox that calls the garden its territory. Thank you so much – it really is a ‘Unique’ cottage! "
"We’ve had a wonderful holiday and hope to return one day to this ‘jewel’ of the west coast."
"Fabulous place! We were very lucky with the weather. Enjoyed lovely sunsets and swims in the sea. Incredible lobster at Tayvallich Inn. Hope to return one day."
"Fabulous view, great weather, comfortable and spacious accommodation."
"Had a fantastic week. Ridiculously relaxing ! Saw otter and deer around the house. Did numerous swims in the sea and soaked up the view to our heart’s content!
""Inspiring views, peace and privacy…and walking distance to great food. Great sleeps in a comfy bed and enjoyed the big lazy lounge. Thank you and we’re already sorting dates for next year."
"A lovely comfortable holiday home with fabulous views. Ate too well and too often at Kilberry Inn, The Smiddy, Kilmartin Coffee shop and Tayvallich Coffee Shop."
" A wonderful week. Couldn't imagine a more beautiful location - and that view....! A lovely comfortable and well appointed cottage. Saw otters from the bedroom window, osprey, and seals in the harbour. Absolutely lovely."
